I have been in the quilting industry for over 15 years and love it. I bring to my customers my love of quilting, some great ideas, samples, and the best products in the industry. I began garment sewing 17 years ago, then added quilting not long after. I love working with my customers and their stores, they are my best inspiration. Our industry is full of individuals with great personalities and creative insights. Being on the cutting edge of the "latest and greatest" fabric and notions is exciting and also extremely fulfilling.  When I'm not sitting at my machine, I can be found walking my English Bull dog, or admiring the nearest Victorian house.

Heidi Doering-FurstHeidi Doering-Furst

Territory: MT, ND, SD, N WY

About Heidi:
The most interesting part of being a sales rep is seeing the wide range of creativity from the stores I visit, everyone does something different with every fabric line. I enjoy all the inspiration and working with a wide range of customers. I have a large geographic area to cover on the road, so hand embroidery and my ipod keep me going. Many a road crew has seen me working on my latest project while I wait for them to let me get to my next appointment.

Marcia Fuerstenberg

Territory: Portland, OR

About Marcia:
I started at E.E Schenck  Co. in the office long before we had computers, when all the invoicing, orders and receiving were done with pen and paper. At the beginning of my career, I did everything from customer service and the order desk to sampling and making fat quarter bundles. After 20 years in the Seattle area as a sales rep, I am now enjoying the Portland territory. Many changes in fabrics and techniques have occurred through the years. Through it all, I still love my customers and my job!

It seems like I have always been around quilting and fa bric. I come from a long line of quilters who hand quilted all of their quilts. My cousins and aunts still have quilting bees! It is a privilege to show fabric, notions and patterns when they are introduced -- that's my favorite part of being a rep. I strive to help my customers be more successful in their business. My favorite project each year is to make Christmas jammies for my grandchildren--8 and counting.

Joanne LeeJoanne Lee

Territory: AK

About Joanne:
Being the youngest of 3 girls, I was exposed to fabric and fiber arts as a young child. I learned to knit and crochet at 5 and was making doll clothes out of the scrapes of my older sisters sewing projects. In High School and College, I sewed most of my own clothes and made custom wedding dresses. I never seemed to be without my sewing machine. I continued to sew and into my 40’s, was introduced to quilting and opened a quilt store soon after. Then the opportunity to sell fabrics and notions came along with the E E Schenck Co. I love the opportunity to see what great shops there are here in the Last Frontier and to help our customers be successful. In my spare time, I show my AKC registered Siberian Huskies.

Lauri McAlpinLaurie McAlpin

Territory: NY, W PA, W VA

About Laurie:
After years of being a quilter and working in a quilting store my true calling came to life when I hit the road for EE Schenck Company.  I love helping shop owners find the perfect project that will fly off the shelf. I adore being on the road, seeing places I would not otherwise get a chance to go visit. And when the weather is mild, I bring my boxer, Apollo. He is the best co-pilot, just sits back, stays quiet and enjoys the ride.

About Nancy:
I worked as a fabric stylist and taught quilting for years so I love seeing the endless variety of ways my customers merchandise the fabrics and products that I sell. Quilt and sewing stores have a special group of people; it is such fun meeting and getting to know each of my customers. English paper piecing is currently my passion; so easy to do when I am on the road. I listen to audible books to keep me awake and entertained as I drive throughout my territory, but I do love coming home to my little dog.

Dennis O'DellDennis O'Dell

Territory: AZ, NM, Las Vegas

About Dennis:
For as long as I can remember, fabric has been a rich part of my life, from asking my mom to teach me how to use her cabinet model Singer (my first project was a super-hero cape made out of an old towel) to learning how to read patterns and making shirts for myself and gifts for my friends in high school, teaching inner-city youth to sew in Chicago, designing and building costumes for theatres and a constume rental house, and working as a District Manager for a national fabric chain.  Now I get to share the joy of fabrics with an increadible variety of quilters, sewers, shop owners, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers, helping them build their businesses and learning from their experience along the way.  AND I get to drive around in a Dodge Caravan packed full of fabric.  Does life get any better than that?

Mary Anne SpadaMary Anne Spada

Territory: Seattle

About Mary Anne:
As a long time EESCO sales rep, the thing that keeps me motivated is variety.  The product is constantly changing. Working to meet the wide variety of customer needs is rewarding. The geography of my territory is diverse and beautiful to drive through. When time allows, I spend time in my garden and my sewing studio. Both pursuits have amazing similarities. Each involves color, texture and form with many rewards and frustrations, like ripping out seams or weeds.
